As the 2011 Oscar Awards nears, Master Mixologist Tim Rita, Head Bartender of Halekulani’s Lewers Lounge (www.halekulani.com), has created five incredible and original themed cocktails representing each of the movies nominated for Best Picture in the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.

Plan to enjoy your choice of tasty cocktails and join in on the fun at The Academy Awards Celebration and Viewing Party, being held at The Lewers Lounge.

Lewers Lounge is located at the luxury Halekulani hotel on Waikiki, Ohau.

The “Academy Awards Celebration and Viewing Party” will be held on February 27, but you can try a drink from a special cocktail menu that will feature the unique creations.

In case you can’t make the party, don’t worry. The delicious themed cocktails from Tim Rita will be available from February 20-27.

Halekulani’s Academy Award-Inspired Cocktails include:

· Le Danse Noir, inspired by Black Swan

· Mickey’s Ward, inspired by The Fighter

· Prickly Pear Smash, inspired by True Grit

· Network of Vodka, inspired by The Social Network

· Playful Punch, inspired by Toy Story 3

Mixologist Tim Rita actually creates specialty cocktails and cocktail menus for all of the restaurant and bar outlets at Halekulani, including La Mer, Orchids and House Without a Key.

Tim has received numerous awards for his original cocktail recipes and in 2009 and 2010, Tim scored in the Top 25 of all competitors at the Shake it Up Battle of the Mixologists in Las Vegas.

In addition, Tim Rita was named the winner in the 2009 Best of Hawaii Hamilton Beach Ellingson Cocktail Competition.

Lewers Lounge is open nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
