At the western end of the Poipu stretch, Lawai Beach is a narrow strip that offers calm waters and great snorkeling, without a beach clutter of sunbathers and waders.
Breaks from an offshore reef farther out attract local surfers. Lawai Beach is also a great place to watch the sunset and to see surfers ride the waves.
