Last month was a record-breaker for the annual Great Whale Count on Maui, which recorded a total of 1,726 whale sightings over a three-hour period on 2/23/08. Nene - Hawaiian State Bird

Here’s a video from a recent visit to Kauai by Chris Osburn . This one is of the Hawaiian state bird, the Nene. The video of the birds was shot at the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge on Kauai. The video is set to Arthur Lyman’s version of the classic Hawaiian song, “Hii Lawe.”
